A short introduction
James B. Glattfelder is an author, academic, and quantitative researcher. He holds an M.Sc. in theoretical physics and a Ph.D. in the study of complex systems, both from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His research focuses on decoding complexity and the metaphysics of existence, with a concern for societal and environmental issues. His March 2025 book, 'The Sapient Cosmos: What a Modern-Day Synthesis of Science and Philosophy Teaches Us about the Emergence of Information, Consciousness, and Meaning,' provides a follow-up to 'Information—Consciousness—Reality: How a New Understanding of the World Can Help Answer Age-Old Questions of Existence.' James grew up in the Swiss mountains and is happily married. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, and listening to electronic music.Publications:
